Tantrum Donghnuts
TANTRUM DOUGHNUTS
Tantrum doughnuts is a doughnut shop a quick 30 seconds walk from
Glasgow Central station, a prime location for hungry commuters to stop in for a
quick tea, coffee, hot chocolate or doughnut!
I went on my commute home and I was definitely not disappointed!
meeting my boyfriend, we decided to get 2 hot chocolates (one with the
home-made melted marshmallow (extra 50p)) and 4 donuts.
We both decided we wanted to try the classic “Madagascar Vanilla Bean
Glazed” flavour which looked amazing, it was a Madagascar Vanilla glazed
brioche ring with chocolate curls on top! My favourite doughnut being a simple
glazed doughnut I knew I had to try this one. I have to say it was really tasty
however for the price I personally prefer some of the classic doughnut places for
their glazed doughnut’s such as “Krispy Kreme” and “Dunkin’ Donuts”.
My second choice was the “Milk
and Cookies” flavour. This was a brioche ring covered in a milk glaze with a
cookie butter swirl with a chocolate crumb on top. This one was 100% my
favourite of the two doughnuts I had chosen. Although it was definitely sickly
it was so worth it however it was very filling also. I would be more than happy
to have this again!
My boyfriend’s second pick was the “Mexican Hot Chocolate” flavour,
I personally loved both of mine however my boyfriend did not enjoy this one,
however the flavour was very out there. The doughnut had siracha inside and chilli flakes on the top (obviously for a certain type of taste buds) so was definitely
a more adventurous choice for him which did not pay off.
The best part of our experience was the hot chocolates, although
we didn’t sit in, the drinks made our cold walk home a lot more bearable, they
were so chocolatey and delicious, perfect for a winter’s night! The “Home-made Marshmallow”
came separate and it was absolutely huge. The first few bites were amazing
however it did get super sickly and had also gotten cold on the walk home so wasn’t
as enjoyable as what I’m sure it would have been if I had it when it was
freshly
roasted.
Overall, I did really enjoy and I would be happy to go in again if I was passing on my way home again, I would definitely order the hot chocolate again and quite possibly the “Milk and Cookies” doughnut or possibly try a new one! Would really recommend for commuters (possibly students) if they travel to Central Station in order to get to work or University.
